An interested group of 10 cartophiles (including a few cartophiliacs)
met Wed. evening May 11 at Dave Harbaugh's Bay Books in Bay Village, O.,
to discuss formation of a map interest group.

The group will operate under the aegis of NOBS (Northern Ohio
Bibliophilic Society) an amalgam of collectors and dealers. The new
map interest group (currently unamed but possibly NOCS? ) is open to
anyone interested in maps & atlases. The initial meeting included
local historians, dealers, publishers, cartographer and map librarian.
Discussion ranged from 16th century European maps to local county
atlases.

The informal group plans to meet quarterly, with the next proposed
meeting for mid-August, exact date and location to be announced.

Any interested cartophiles are urged to join us.
