The Gale version of the "LC Classification Schedule: Class
G," includes all changes published in LC's "Additions and
Changes." In general geographic Cutters for places in the United
States should be taken from the LC publication "Geographic
Cutters" (2nd ed.) rather than from the printed G-schedule.
There has not been a consistent practice in the past to update
the Cutters in the printed version of the schedule since the
microfiche publication of United States Cutters was published.
Additionally, with the plans to convert the schedule to an
electronic version in the USMARC format, geographic Cutters will
generally not be maintained in the printed G-schedule. The plans
for conversion of all of the LC schedules to USMARC have a
projected completion date on the end of this calendar year.
