Charlene, I don't know of any map collection that has been pulled apoart to
quite the extent proposed for the Un. of Arizona's, but you might want to
talk to Helen Clarke, map librarian at the Un. of Calgary, about how
responsibility for that collection has evolved. A ref. team does provide
access. As I recall, the maps are located in locked cabinets adjacent to
the ref. collection and are not on a separate floor. I'm sure Clalgary can
tell you waht has happened, positive and negative, re their
reorgainization. It wasn't all negative by any means. Carol Marley  marley@
