Information about this map can be found in the CIESIN Tracking Database. The
maps (by Continents) were published originally at the scale on 1:5,000,000.
They have been recently digitized in Arc/Info format by/or in cooperation with
Eros Data Center. I have recommended their acquisition by CIESIN while ago;
they have been approved by the data selection commitee.

Copies of these maps currently reside at the EDC.

Has anyone purchased the FAO Digitized Soil Map of the World or any of
its individual parts? I believe the data is in ArC/Info format and was
wondering if anyone had tried using it with ArcView or other software? I
assume that this is "more" than their printed set of soil maps -
true/false? Any comments greatly welcomed.
