Society copy.
 
The first issue is outstanding, so much so, I am worried about their being able
to keep up the quantity and quality for 6 issues per year. But what a challenge,
and what a nice clutch of articles to plow through.

I would like to announce the first issue of Mercator's World is now
available. The publishers were kind enough to provide us with a few
complimentary copies for our meeting of the Boston Map Society this
evening. A first glance reveals it to be quite different than either The
Map Collector, Imago Mundi, or the IMCOS Journal. Some might say that we
may have too many journals but I personally believe these titles will
only encourage additional map enthusiasts to become collectors and that
more information will reach an even greater audience.
 
I not only support the existing titles but also welcome this new addition
to our shelves.
