        A faculty member here at our Energy, Environment, and Resources
Center (EERC) is looking for a measurement in miles for the average
distance between mean lowtide for the U.S. East Coast and the
edge of the Continental Shelf. I advised them that that was a lot to
generalize, but they seem to be intent on getting a number somehow.
If anyone has information of that sort, or knows of a good source for it,
please respond to me directly and I will pass the information on to the
EERC.
