Orlando, Florida
November 13-15, 1996

This conference will provide an international forum for discussing current
land tenure and land administration initiatives in emerging nations and
regional economies. The first day of the conference will deal with
economic, legal and equity issues surrounding land policy. It will also
include a discussion of land tenure issues relating to indigenous rights,
privatization of land and its resources, formal versus informal and
customary land tenure systems, and the environment. The second and third
days of the conference will focus on institutional and technical issues and
address strategies in land administration. Topics covered include
identifying critical project design parameters, reforming existing cadastre
