Position Announcement:
 
GIS Manager for the Bruton Center for Development
Studies, University of Texas at Dallas.
 
Salary $50-60,000, depending on experience.
 
We are seeking a senior technical manager with several
years experience managing large GIS projects, and having
very strong GIS programming and database design skills.
Strong experience with Oracle and Arc/Info are essential.
This position will be the key manager for the Bruton
Center GIS activities, including the management of the
North Texas GIS Consortium project to develop an on-line
Spatial Data Warehouse (using Oracle/SDE), and
integration of parcel and other data from local area
agencies.  A foundation database including digital
orthophotography, transportation, hydrography, DEM,
and ground control has already been developed at 1 meter
accuracy. The Center has just been awarded one of the
seven NSDI Framework Demostration Project grants awarded
by the Federal Geographic Data Committee.  Experience
with the core consortium data (digital orthophoto, DEM,
planimetric features, TIGER, and parcel), and familiarity
with the NSDI Framework, metadata and spatial data
transfer standards is needed.
 
Good communication and project management skills will
also be necessary, as the position will incolve
coordinating technical committees within the North Texas
GIS Consortium, and teaching GIS courses in the school's
GIS Certification program.  Please send letter of
