I have done this with Connecticut MAGIC data, so I know it can be done.
The trick is to import the data into MapInfo format, then 'set' them
using the Datains.exe app that MS supplies. I found the executable in
the C:\program\common files\Datamap\ path.

Unless you are able to convert the ArcInfo to MapInfo , I don't believe
you will have any luck. I would recommend a GIS consultant to job it
out to.

You must use shape and data -files, which are in MapInfo 4 -format =
(*.map, *.tab). So you must first export arcinfo -files to mapinfo =
format.

In the Excel 7.0, there is a directory called datamap, where mapping =
tools is. In that directory you must use datainst -program to install =
files in that datamap -tool.

Hello everyone,

I am using Excel 7.0 for Windows 95 and I noticed that the program =
includes
a mapping tool. We have the German version so one can choose the federal
provinces of Germany and Austria, but no other geographical boundaries.

Does anyone know how maps can be imported into XL? We use ARC/INFO and
ARCVIEW for our thematic mapping, but it would be nice, especially for =
our
customers, to be able to make simple maps in XL, too.

Thanks,
