          The Geography and Map Division is pleased to announce the
          unveiling of access to an electronic version of some materials in
          the Library's collection of cartographic materials.  The first
          aggregate of items being scanned is our collection of panoramic
          maps, following the listing of items in Panoramic Maps of Cities
          in the United States and Canada:  A Checklist of Maps in the
          Collections of the Library of Congress, published in 1984.  The
          first 26 images, which represent cities from five states, are now
          available (http://lcweb2.loc.gov/ammem/pmhtml/panhome.html).
          More images will be added each month until all of the panoramic
          maps, excluding reproductions, are completed.
