I think your guesstimate of five years is unrealistic considering the
size of the collection (530,000 items) mentioned by Karen Rice.
Besides the 45,000 single sheets and globes, don't forget she listed
140,000 single sheets--US depository materials. That means there
could be 185,000 titles to catalogue.  At 300 titles per month (very
productive for two or three people!), I estimate it would take 51
years!
 
Paige, after your done cataloguing the maps at Western Washington
Univ. in five years, you should go help out at the Library of
Congress.
