The University of Wyoming Libraries is seeking applicants for the position of Cataloger.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform original and complex copy cataloging and authority control on physical and digital resources in a variety of formats and subjects. Participate in ongoing database maintenance and other departmental projects as needed. Under the guidance of the libraries' NACO coordinator create name authority records for submission to NACO. As a member of the library faculty, pursue an active and ongoing program of professional development, scholarship, and service. Report to the Head of Technical Services.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: MLS from an ALA accredited institution. Knowledge of cataloging standards and practices. Knowledge of LCC, LCSH, USMARC, metadata, AACR2R , OCLC, authority control, bibliographic maintenance, and integrated library system functionality. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Strong problem solving abilities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two years professional cataloging experience. OCLC experience, preferably the Connexion client. Experience with integrated library systems, preferably Voyager. Academic library experience. NACO experience. Reading ability of a foreign language sufficient to catalog.

The minimum salary is $36,000, dependent on qualifications and experience; 12-month appointment, 22 days vacation; sick leave, group health insurance, state and TIAA-CREF retirement plans, no state income tax.
