I am working on a series of podcasts about using maps for science
research. Before I reinvent the wheel, does anyone have any favorite
guides for the **use** of maps, rather than for *finding* maps?

I’ve found some good articles to get me started, such as “Map Use Across
the Disciplines,” by Dawn Youngblood (Journal of Map and Geography
Libraries, v.2 (2), 2006, p.33), and “Map Use: the Many Dimensions,” by
James Carter (http://www.ilstu.edu/~jrcarter/mapuse/), not to mention
the USGS website, but I’d love to see materials aimed at undergraduates,
especially.
