Why Attend?
In the public and private sectors around the world, the use of geographic
information systems is exploding, yets its understanding and use are still
limited within all levels of education. This conference will equip
educators and administrators with the resources to conduct research and
solve problems in new ways using the power of spatial analysis available
through GIS technology. Most importantly, the skills and knowledge you gain
here will help you to prepare your students for the challenges of the next
century. At this conference you will discover:

*The advantages that GIS can bring to your work
*How GIS can be integrated and applied to a variety of disciplines and
perspectives
*Opportunities to discover a different approach to teaching and learning
through the use of new technologies
*How to procure and maintain GIS technology at your institution

* K-12 educators will benefit from seeing real life examples of how GIS has
been integrated into grade specific classrooms.
* College and university faculty from the subject matter disciplines will
see how GIS can open doors to further research and teaching in their
specific disciplines.
* Faculty from Colleges of Education can learn how to train the teachers of
tomorrow in GIS applications in the K-12 classrooms.
* Administrators can learn the potential GIS has to enhance analysis of
educational needs, markets and trends.
