I've never before posted to a list of which I was not a member, so
please accept my apologies in advance.

I have a patron who needs a recommendation for a general world
historical atlas to buy as a Christmas gift. He's a physician and is
willing to spend upwards of a hundred dollars. Colleagues among general
reference librarians tend to recommend the TIMES ATLAS OF WORLD HISTORY.
Are there any obvious alternatives, or chould I just go with this one?

Thanks in advance, and please respond directly to me.
