MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY EXTENSION SERVICE
GEOSPATIAL EXTENSION SPECIALIST
POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
 
The Geospatial Extension Specialist will be the primary source in
Extension for technical and educational information on geospatial
information technology (i.e., remote sensing, geographic information
systems, global positioning systems, geographically referenced
process-based models) applied to agriculture, the environment, natural
resource management, and economic and community development.  This
individual will provide an outreach function for the Remote Sensing
Technologies Center located at Mississippi State University and will
be a member of the Center s comprehensive research and extension team.
 Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in a field related to or supporting
geospatial technologies with emphasis in remote sensing.  A practical
knowledge of production agriculture and natural resource management.
Excellent team building, interpersonal skills and excellent
communication skills both written and verbal.  A vision for geospatial
technologies program development.  Knowledge and experience in the
areas of economic and community development and land use planning is
desirable.  Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications
and successful experience.  Mississippi State University Extension
