ALA-MAGERT's Federal Spatial Information Discussion Group will meet
Saturday June 21 at 2pm in the Giovanna Room of the Toronto Colony
Hotel.
There are two agenda items.  1) Members of the Cartographic Users
Advisory
Council will report on their annual meeting in Washington, DC.  CUAC
members will be able to answer questions about activities of US federal
agencies and their cartographic products.  2) Marcel Fortin, University
of
Tornoto and President, Canadian Map Libraries and Archives and Grace
Welch,
University
of Ottowa and Past President, Canadian Map Libraries and Archives will
speak on the subject of goverment-produced data in Canada.  They will
give
insight into data availability and sharing in Canada and address issues
of
distribution, access and public policy.  Attendees will have the
opportunity to discuss points of comparison between the US and Canada.
