Subject: marcive record question

------------------
Folks, The issue of deleting old marcive records from the online
catalog when a new edition is received has become quite a problem for
us.
We are a Regional Depository and nautical sheets are esp a problem given
their frequency.
I would very much appreciate hearing from you and how you deal with
this.
Do you delete each and every record of superceded items withdrawn from
your collection?
Ignore the marcive record even though the map is removed from the
collection because... [no one has time to go in and delete these
records]?
Not allow those records in your opac in the first place?

Second part to this question: do you add the marcive record for every
sheet map (eg. 7.5' topo sheets) in your opac or set up a serial record
(eg. a Wisconsin 7.5' topo) record?

Your response is most appreciated and please pardon the cross posting.
