Lucinda and HJ;

And for SF or cyberpunk, almost all of Neal Stephenson's books have a
mapping or GIS component, especially Snowcrash which has a pre-Gorean
Digital Earth in the shape of a virtual globe AND a librarian avatar/daemon,
and Zodiac which uses lobsters to build a point dataset of pollution in
Boston Harbor to solve an eco-thriller.

Thanks HelenJane for that list. I couldn't remember all
the titles of those movies.

For GIS in action, look at CBS's The District on Saturday
nights.
