Faculty appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Lecturer,
depending on qualifications, for one-year beginning Fall, 1999.  Ph.D.
preferred, but not required.  Candidates must have primary research and
teaching interests in Geovisualization and Cartography, preferably with
specialization in one or more of the following:  cartographic design,
visualization, GIS and Society.  Other possible research areas are: GIS
applications, environmental modeling, spatial decision-support systems,
and transportation.  SUNY at Buffalo has been part of the National Center
for Geographic Information and Analysis (NCGIA) since the NCGIA was
established in 1988; the successful candidate will be expected to take an
active role in NCGIA-related research.  For more information on the
