Good afternoon - I'd like to humbly request some advice.

Often maps designed for travellers are folded and a cardboard "cover" is
glued over the entirety of the map panel.  I have been attempting to
separate this cover from the map, with no real success.  (These are
Berndtson & Berndtson maps, the well-glued panel is often 23 x 26 cm., and
I have ~20 of them.)

If anyone has managed to uproot these covers, I'd be interested in learning
your secret.  Thanks very much.
