Dear Colleagues:

The American Geological Institute (AGI) is pleased to announce the new
/GeoSpectrum/. The new /GeoSpectrum/ is a FREE quarterly electronic
magazine (e-zine) covering the news and events of the geoscience
profession – as told through the member societies of AGI and other
professional geoscience organizations and is available at
http://www.agiweb.org/geospectrum, or via free email subscription.

The new /GeoSpectrum/ is an outlet for AGI’s Member Societies to share
information with each other and the entire geoscience community in hopes
of building better communication and fostering greater cooperation
within the geoscience community. Through a stronger and more connected
community, the geosciences can become more effective at working together
to address the both the needs within the profession as well as society.

The current issue of the new /GeoSpectrum/ covers a diverse range of
topics including a new exhibit at the Museum of the Earth in Ithaca, NY,
a new website to encourage school-age girls to pursue careers as
scientists, and a new endeavor to provide libraries with current lists
of relevant geoscience publications. You will also find Member Society
information, award winners, meeting recaps and the GeoCalendar, listing
meetings, conferences, and events sponsored by various organizations and
societies.

You can download either screen-optimized or print-quality PDFs of
/GeoSpectrum/ at:

http:/ /www.agiweb.org/geospectrum.

You can also subscribe on the website for automatic email delivery of
future issues via email, or for notices about new issues being available.

This publication will be key for those interested in the happenings
within the geoscience profession. If you have an article or information
that you would like to submit to the magazine, please contact
