Subject: NIEDERWIESA and ISOLA
Sender: [log in to unmask]

Dear MAPS-L people:

A patron has asked: Does the town NIEDERWIESA still exist today and what is
its Polish name? It is probably 15 miles southeast of Luban (aka Lauban),
Poland, and east of Görlitz, Germany. It is on the River Kwisa (aka
Queis).

She also would like to know specifically where ISOLA was. It was near the
Istrea Peninsula in the Asiatic in the late 17th and early 18th centuries.
It is 9 miles from Trieste and it was a fishing port.

Can anyone out there help us with her questions?

TIA,
Sue Ann Gardner
