When I was doing research last year, RLG told me that their GeoInfo. project
was dead.  I think I still have the notes from the phone conversation tucked
away somewhere, I will try to dig those up if you are interested.
 
Also, regarding the SDTS you may want to look at (I think) the March issue of
American Cartography (here's a real librarian for ya--it has a brown cover?)
It had an entire issue devoted to this and the FGDC.  I am at work and the
issue is at home.  I will dig this up too, I am somewhat of a pack-rat and
a slow unpacker!
