PUBLICATION ANNOUNCEMENT

The History Data Service of the UK Data Archive
and the Department of Geography, University of Exeter
announce the completion of an ESRC-funded project
to compile an electronic map and gazetteer/metadata
of the historic (pre-1850) boundaries of English and Welsh 
parishes, townships and their divisions.  History Data 
Service has published a book by Roger Kain and Richard 
Oliver which describes the electronic map and its 
compilation and how the boundary data can be accessed.  It 
also includes an abbreviated gazetteer of places located on 
the electronic map.  The book details are:

an Electronic Map of Boundaries before 1850 with a
