GPO is currently recruiting for the position of Librarian (Cataloger) in
the Bibliographic Control Section of Library Technical Information
Services. The Library Technical Information Services is responsible for
all of GPO's acquisitions and metadata and cataloging efforts including
those associated with the National Bibliography Program (NBP) mandated
by Sections 1710, 1711, and 4101 of Title 44 U.S.C. The mission of the
Library Technical Information Services is to acquire, and create
bibliographic and metadata records for the complete range of U.S.
Government publications, and provide access to and distribution of
bibliographic data through catalogs, promotional materials, record
distribution and online tools and services. The Bibliographic Control
Section supports the mission of the Library Technical Information
Services by creating, maintaining and managing the bibliographic and
metadata records for all formats of U.S. Government information
products.

The incumbent of this position works collectively with other Librarians
in the Bibliographic Control Section and with Automation Librarians on
Integrated Library System projects and other staff in Library Technical
Information Services. The position is in the Central Office of the U.S.
Government Printing Office in Washington, D.C.
