Many thanks to Deborah Natsios for making available the full story from the
Washington Post. This is certainly more helpful than the advertisement from
East View. I found Mr Lee's remarks that highly experienced and knowledgable
professionals in the nation's depository libraries shouldn't worry about
this possible change--especially because we could always buy the maps from
his firm--most inappropriate. Clearly any change in structure to NIMA such
as the one on the table needs to be monitored carefully by map and
government documents librarians.
