Actually a quadrangle name can change over time.

Olympia had its own quadrangle name until the USGS switched it to
Tumwater. I don't know exactly when this happened but name change over
time does ocuur.

We have some topographic *index* maps from the 1960-1980s. Do these
change over time, or are the same from year to year? I would assume that
once a quadrangle is named, it does not change. Is there any need to
keep these?
