Dear Map folks,

Geographica, The Complete Illustrated reference to Canada and the World

We just received this interesting new World atlas with CD-ROM and
gazetteer. 1999 edition published by Raincoast Books, Vancouver ISBN
1551922509 price CAN$ 89.95

The book comes in a colourful and sturdy folding slipcase with plastic
handle a very clever method of protecting the atlas inside. (the word
"atlas" is not used although most of the book revolves around maps and
geographic information)..

The maps use a combination of hypsometric tints and shaded relief to
show elevations.

The credits state that the atlas was first published in Australia by
Random House Austalia 1999. Further the General editor is Professor
William Wonders (U of Toronto) The forward is by Professor Bruce G. Thom
(Louisiana State University)
