Dear All,
 
I have recently been recommended FME (feature manipulation engine)
for doing format conversions. It handles SHP, MIF, DXF, DWG, E00
and many other formats as well as doing around 200 projections,
datums and ellipsoids.
 
I don't have a North American contact, but the UK suppliers
is Dotted Eyes, 1C Plymouth Road, Barnt Green, Birmingham,
B45 8JE. The Telephone number is +44 121 445 6161 which you
can also use as a fax. Price is about 400 pounds I believe.
