Dear Listserv owner,

I am writing to ask of you would post an *announcement to your members*
regarding our online video release of a free public television resource:
The Geospatial Revolution Project.

Instructors are invited to use these open source videos available online
at http://geospatialrevolution.psu.edu/episode3/.

This third installment of a four-part series, produced by *Penn State
Public Broadcasting*, deals with the technology in relation to privacy
and how geospatial information affects law enforcement, war and
diplomacy. It is ideal for a range of classroom discussions around
social change, ethics, diplomacy, privacy, and the social and economic
impact on the ability to precisely map the terrain.

Jeff Jonas, member of the board of the United States Geospatial
Intelligence Foundation, sums up the thoughts in the video, “A
surveillance society is not only inevitable and irreversible, I’ve come
to the conclusion that it’s irresistible -- and it’s not government
doing it to us, it’s us doing it to ourselves...and the question is: how
do people feel about that?”

We’re very proud of the efforts on this project and have been getting a
lot of positive exposure in the GIS community for its quality and
content. If you have questions about the project, please feel free to
contact me at 814-865-5954 or [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]>.__
