(My apology to those CARTA subscribers who have already seen this)

If you don't already know about this book, good. If you do know about it, sorry
for the duplication. We just received our copy of Kenneth Kershaw's new book
entitled "Early Maps of Canada, 1540-1703". I'm certainly no expert on old maps
but I think that it is a "must" for Canadian map libraries/archives. There is
not anything similar for only Canada that I know of. It is limited to 1000
copies, 8.5" x 11" format, clothbound, 320 pages, 220 b/w plates, $140 Cdn and
$106 US including shipping. ISBN 0-9697184-0-3. I'm not plugging this for any
personal gain - just professional information for colleagues. The book can be
ordered at:
Kershaw Old Maps and Prints
442 Wilson St. E.
Ancaster, Ont.

phone: 905-648-1991
fax: 905-304-1037

Lets get the ordering information out for any new books we are aware of
(particularly from obscure sources) but lets wait to see the book
and for the reviews before we make judgments about the book.
