If this is the same as the Bertelsmann 'Der Grosser Atlas der Welt' then
it is quite an impressive, but very expensive, production. It essentially
combines a lot of satellite images with the typical RV roadmap style of
map pages. It is all in a large format book and on very glossy paper.
 
Personally I think that the overall style and integration of the material
could have been a lot better. The images are really only there because they
look pretty, and I do not much like the RV style of cartography - it is
rather brown/gray in overall appearance.
 
As a reference item for a library, though, I guess it could be very
usefull.
