Miami University Libraries seeks a Head Science Librarian or Associate/Assistant Librarian who is knowledgeable about information technology, emerging trends and scholarly communication innovations in the scientific literature; responsible for administration and management of all aspects of the Brill Science Library including participating in the hiring and supervising of staff and establishing strong relationships with department chairs, liaisons and students; actively participate in planning of a new facility.
Require: Graduate library degree from ALA accredited institution; undergraduate degree in science or engineering, or other closely related field; documented record based upon very strong performance in primary professional responsibilities, very strong performance in either service or scholarship/creative activity (for appointment as Associate Librarian); teaching skills leading to proficient instruction in information fluency; analytical skills; flexibility to work in an environment with continual change; ability to work with all levels of staff and diverse library customers; strong computer knowledge including skill in the use and application of multimedia software; strong written and oral communication skills; initiative and ability to conceive and carry out projects; ability to meet Libraries' requirements for promotion and continuing contract
