Here's a question to which I should know the answer, but I don't.

Is there a source of pre-Tiger-file road data for the United States--in shapefile (or other modern) format? Has someone, for example, converted the DIME files?

A patron here wants U.S. street data for the 1970s and 1980s.

I'd be grateful for any information.
