Job description:
SIGNAL corporation, one of the nation's fastest growing high-tech
companies, has an immediate opening for a GIS Analyst in Picatinny
Arsenal, NJ  to maintain spatial databases and produce high-quality
maps.  Responsibilities include conversion of spatial data between
software and hardware platforms, creation and maintenance of
documentation, & creation of cartographic products.  This position
requires the candidate to be experience with the ERSI family of
products, most notably Arcview, preferably from an environmental
perspective.  Programming experience with Avenue and/or Visual Basic
is a plus. Some knowledge of Arc Info and Arc Macro Language is
helpful. Will perform basic systems analysis, evaluation, design,
integration, programming, documentation, maintenance and
implementation of application which require knowledge of scientific,
engineering, mathematics and related ADP systems concepts for
effective implementation.  Participates in at least two phases of
software development with emphasis on the planning, analysis,
evaluation, programming, integration, testing, and acceptance phases
working on mainframe and personal computers, either standalone or
networked.  Applies computer science principals and methods to basic
technical problems in engineering and sciences to arrive at automated
solutions.  Participates in the design and implementation of software
conversions between languages and/or hardware platforms.  May
participate in the development of operational prototypes. Designs and
