(The full text and photographs will be placed on the Web
Saturday afternoon.)

Over 180 Lots are described and 92 items photographed in color. Again, we
are pleased to provide an important group of 16th to 19th Century material.
The most important inclusion is a 1592, Ortelius Atlas, Theatrum Orbis
Terrarum, with 129 maps in original color. Provenance: Lt. Colonel Professor
Karl Haushofer (1869-1946). Bio: Rudolph Hess introduced Haushofer to
Hitler. He became one of Hitler's principal advisors, and he frequently
visited both, Hitler and Hess, while they were in prison and during the
writing of Mein Kampf. Haushofer created the concept of Geopolitics and
expanded Mackinders theories of East Europe being the key to control of the
world - the "heartland." Haushofer's son, Albrecht, was a personal friend of
Rudolph Hess, but was part of the German Resistance, and was a significant
participant in the "bomb plot" to kill Hitler.

E-MAIL ALERT: Some of our clients have notified us that they are having
difficulty in
sending e-mail to us. This appears to be isolated to those whose Server is
"msn.com" and a few others. If this is the suffix of your e-mail and you
have been having
difficulty, I would be most appreciative of receiving a copy of your
"bounceback" message with header codes so that we can trace the cause of the
problem. You may FAX to 717-626-8858. I would also appreciate hearing from
anyone who is experiencing any other types of communication difficulty.
Thank you. James E. Hess.

E-mail Problem Described: The Technical Specialist at the large Server we
use, just responded with the following: "Our server is rejecting mail from
email.msn.com because it has no forward DNS entry. In order to help reduce
SPAM we require that there be a Forward & Reverse DNS entry for all mail
servers sending to our domain."

I consulted with our very experienced Web Master, and he reported that our
Server is appropriately responding to an industry problem. The solution to
the problem is in the hands of the "sending" parties Server. Should any
clients be having difficulty sending e-mail to the Heritage Map Museum, or
to other parties and receiving "bounce back..undeliverable" responses, I
advise that the party contact their Server and request that they initiate
the operation of a "Forward and Reverse DNS entry" so that your out-going
E-mail will not be hindered. James E. Hess
