Just saw in the hands of a fellow librarian, who started beating me
about the head with it, when I tried to take it away from him...

newest "murder mystery" from Elliott Roosevelt:
     "Murder in the Map Room"

which I take it is sited in the old White House map room in use during
WWII and similar to Churchill's war room, now preserved and visitable
     in London.

The White House map room, according to a recent C-Span special, is now
just a sitting room of sorts, but I noticed they had a couple of
antique maps on the walls, just to make the room name make sense! On
the C-Span special the curator stated that the White House map room
was never photographed during WWII, so they do not know how it looked
at the time...yet I seem to remember that the recent "map room"
microfilm collection of Roosevelt papers [no maps] had a photo of FDR
in the map room, and I think it was recorded in photos from NGS when
they presented FDR with his NGS mapcase. But, I might be wrong...

Happy Reading! I will wait for the paperback!
