Map Enthusiasts:
Plan now to attend the 13th annual RMCA Map Expo -- Friday, Sept. 17 and Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 -- at the Hilton Garden Inn South near the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. It's the best place in the world to meet fellow collectors, and have thousands of maps for trade, buy or sell.
Special events this year include a speaker at Friday night's dinner -- Pete Charlton, RMCA member, collector and publisher -- and Saturday afternoon (carpool) field trips and dinner at a restored Skelly station. Details are posted on the club website ( www.roadmaps.org ) and will be in the Summer edtion of the Legend.
DEADLINE FOR PRE-REGISTRATION IS SEPT. 1. Use the registration form, below, which is also in the Spring issue of the Legend. Mail it with your check to: RMCA Expo, PO Box 158, Channelview, TX 77530-0158. You may also register on the RMCA website ( www.roadmaps.org ) and pay with Paypal. After Sept. 1, we cannot guarantee table space or dinner space.
RESERVE ROOM BY AUG. 17. To make a room reservation, contact the Hilton Garden Inn South at 800-445-8667 (toll free) or direct at 972-313-2800. Tell them you're with the "Road Map group" to get a room on our floor. Rate is $79 King or $89 two Queen per night plus tax, including breakfast. Rate is available both Friday and Saturday nights. You must book by Aug. 17 to get this rate. If you are flying, use their free airport shuttle. Hotel address is 2001 Valley View Lane, Irving, TX 75061.
