Please forgive duplication.  This message has been cross-posted to
MAPHIST.
 
Attention cartographic catalogers:
 
The Bibliographic Standards Committee of ALA's Rare Books and
Manuscripts Section would like to know the level of interest among
cartographic catalogers in a cataloging tool for rare maps.  The proposed
handbook would be similar to that for rare books, Descriptive
Cataloguing of Rare Books, currently in revision for a new edition and
web-based version.  DCRB includes a companion volume, the
"Examples," which has each sample record in MARC format.
 
If sufficient interest in the project is expressed a formal proposal will be
