Are there any updates available on progress with the ARL GIS literacy
project?

I am preparing papers on integrating GIS with conventional
map library services for the Liber European Map Library group
meeting next year, and for the Dutch Cartographic Society meeting
this fall, and would be vary grateful for any updates on the
situation in the States.

I don't recall any messages on the net about the project, and have
not yet read any articles about it other than Laura Lang's 'Mapping
the future of map librarianship', American Libraries, November 1992,
pp880- 3.

I would also be very interested to hear from any participants (on or
off the record, direct or via MAPS-L), about their reactions to the
initiative.
