Starting with 32 pages of satellite images the atlas goes on to show the
world at a uniform 1:4,000,000 scale using detailed shaded relief and spot
elevations to illustrate elevations. An additional section breaks down both
the US and Canada at 1:2,000,000 scale. Statistics and facts on each country
are shown in the next 16 pages with 32 pages of detail street level maps of
the worlds largest cities. Included in the back flap of the atlas is the
Planet Earth CD-ROM (not available separately) that provides an encyclopedic
view of the landscapes, people and ecology of the planet. More than 1,500
photographs and over an hour of video and audio covering the culture,
politics, geography and economics of nearly 200 countries. The index for
geographic features and settlements is over 150,000 entries.

20 pages of maps of Canada with an index of  approximately 3,600 places and
feature names with their geographical coordinates. No thematic or city maps
are included, all maps use hypsometric tints to show elevations and
political boundaries are shown with red lines. Most maps are only of
southern Canada at scale 1:2,200,000 and all of northern Canada is on one
map at 1:8,900,000
 
The World section has 128 pages of maps and the world index gives 45,000
names of features as well as towns and cities, however only the page number
and a letter / number coordinate is given, no geographical coordinates. Here
also there are no thematic or city maps.
