Alaska won't be covered by 7.5 minute mapping anytime soon. The cost and
logistics are prohibitive. The USGS is always interested in cooperative
projects, of course, so if anyone with extra funds or a large grant has an area
that they'd like to see covered by recent, large-scale mapping - give us a
holler!

Anyone know if there are plans to ultimately issue 7.5 minute topographic
quads. for all of Alaska? Now there appear to be just 170 or so.
