You may want to try this cd-rom from the U.S. Geological Survey:

--Title Global GIS database. Digital atlas of Africa [electronic resource] / by P. Hearn, Jr. ... [et al.]
Pub info [Flagstaff, AZ : USGS Flagstaff Field Survey ; Denver, CO : For sale by USGS Information
Services (Map and Book Sales)], 2001
Government Documents call number: I 19.121:62-B

I just checked the Kent State library catalog and they have it available at the Main Circulation Desk under the call number above.

Folks,

Suppose one wanted to do a mapping of the regional divisions of the world from the LC call number range:
ie, West Africa (G8700+), Eastern Africa, etc. I don't need the boundaries for each country, just these divisions.

Does anyone know of a source for shape files (for Arc products) that could define the world this way? for use in a GIS?

Thanks for any help,

Edith
