Forwarded to maps-l and maphist. Please include Rhianna when replying as
that she's likely not subscribed to maphist (only maps-l)

Hello fellow map lovers. I received the below request the other day and
was wondering if anyone knew the answer. My very limited expertiese is
mainly government maps so I really don't know where to look for reprints
and such. Thanks! You can reply off list to my mtu address:

Rhianna

Hello Rhianna,

Thank you for returning my call and offering to put this question onto
the listserv.

I have a Richard Blome map: "A generall mappe of Scandinavia, where are
the estates and kingdomes of Danemark, Norway and Sweden...." It is the
1669 version with the "Despaire Not .... Eastland Merchants" crest in
the
upper-left-hand corner. It has been colored.

It is not printed on machine-made paper -- there are wire marks - only
horizontal.

I would like to know if anybody knows of a reprint of this map (on
above-described paper) - or if I indeed have a 1669 map. Alternatively,
I would like any advice on dating the map or ascertaining its
authenticity.

Thank you,
