FULL TIME POSITION FOR CARTOGRAPHER. Position #S008

Location:  The Cartographic Section, Geography Department, The University of
Western Ontario, London, Ontario  Canada.
 
The Cartographic Section is comprised of two full-time cartographers - the Head
of Cartographic Services, Patricia M. Chalk and the individual for the
advertised position.  Position available July 1993.
 
Competitive salary & excellent benefits offered.
 
Requirements:
University degree in geography, or Community College diploma in cartography with
a strong background in geography, statistics and mathematics; ability to
transform field/sketch maps, notes and statistical data into camera-ready
professional graphics.
Good working knowledge of postscript drawing in either Macintosh or DOS using
Adobe Illustrator, Aldus Freehand or CorelDraw; familiarity with map and data
compilation and verification.
 
Major Responsibilities:
To apply cartographic and geographic principles to the design and production of
unique maps and graphics; to interpret complex data sets and geographic
phenomena so that appropriate graphic representations may be formulated.
