*Description:*
Geoliteracy is important for K-12 students to learn in today’s
increasingly connected world. There are many online tools that can help
teach students geographic perspective and spatial reasoning. This
webinar will look at some of the most useful sites for K-12 education
focusing on geoliteracy skills, human-environment interactions, and
other basic geographic principles. The intended audience is educators
of all types: teachers, school media specialists, and other geographic
information librarians who are interested in collaborating with the K-12
educational community. Sponsored by ALA MAGIRT - the Map and Geospatial
Information Round Table.

*About the speaker:*
Carol McAuliffe has been the Head of the Map & Imagery Library at the
George A. Smathers' Libraries at the University of Florida for almost 7
years and specializes in geoliteracy, geography and GIS education, and
the educational role of the geographic information librarian.
