Over the next nine days the Olympics will shut down most of the University of
Georgia, including the Map Collection.  The Map Collection will be closed
July 27 through August 3.  It will reopen on Sunday, August 4.  The Map Room
was to remain open limited hours but security and parking concerns recently
heighten and the Map Collection was deemed non-essential.
 
Maps-L messages should continue, but may be slightly delayed.  The moderator's
home computer has been having problems (probably due to poor wetware). The
moderator may have to act like an olympic visitor to get in to use a computer
on campus.
