Those of you who are interested in undertaking digitization projects may
want to take a look at my little article on "Map Imaging Service
Providers."  The core of the article is a list of vendors in the U.S.
that are able to image maps 30" wide and larger.  The article also
includes some background information and a short bibliography of
articles on high-resolution map imaging.  It is available as MAGERT
