Dale,

When we discovered that there was no legal geographic definition of the
Straits of Florida all it took was a telephone call to the Board (on??
Geographic Names) and the discussions began. The geographers at the Board
were very attentive and accomodating and it took only a short time to
generate a lat/long definition for the area.

Dale,
According to guidelines furnished to me, the correct form for application
for proposed name changes, new names, spelling clarifications, etc.
should first be referred to the appropriate state board, using the form
called `Domestic Geographic name Report' which is obtainable from your
state board or from the USGS.
